Player's Manual - Spoilers Inside


Beacon's Edge leaves a lot for the player to discover.  While this respects your intelligence, can amplify mystery, and rewards players, it can also create frustration, confusion, and be a barrier to mastery. 

This post should act as a FAQ and players manual for those who want a deeper understanding of the game mechanics. What is seen cannot be unseen, please turn back if you want to preserve your experience.


Tips and Strategy

  • 'Esc' \ 'Escape' key pauses the game and offers audio controls.

  •  Hover on top bar materials for name and upgrade hints
  • Failure to keep the battery on will result in a loss of common and uncommon inventory, but preserves high value inventory and active upgrades. 
  • A canceled task still costs material. Upgrade wisely!
  • Early game:
    • Battery capacity is a priority. More battery capacity means more time for better upgrades.
  • Mid game:
    • Flywheels, Fledglings, and Crank Séances are priority. Automation is nearing. Flywheels really amplify the power of Crank Séances
  • Late game:
    • Are you still cranking? Hopefully you're just enjoying the spooky vibes and your murder of crows while waiting for another mushroom to exhaust your horde of scavenged goods. Prestige is nearing.
