Beacon's Edge 2.0 is live!



Developer Note
The biggest update to date. This update touches every piece of the game, so expect a new experience. I'm excited to share that the game is in a mobile-friendly state and downloads for android and ios devices are in the works.
I expect another surge of traffic and feedback from this update. I intend to commit another development cycle to the game after this launch, after which my focus will shift from new features and feedback accommodation, and onto balancing the game, supporting more devices, and generally fielding any issues the active player base has.
Thanks for such an incredible journey. All of you made my first game development experience very exciting and rewarding. :)
Changes:
Art/UI:
- Adds shake animation to journal when new entry is added.
- Changes trade menu button and font colors to be more readable.
- Adds settings menu button to bottom left of screen. (mobile improvement)
Upgrades:
- Reduces cost of Prestige to from 3 minutes to 2.
- Reduces base cost of Seance from 2 minutes to 1.
- Buffs auto scavenge and crank: Now occurs every 45 seconds instead of 60.
Trading:
- Adds Epic resources to the trade menu.
- All rare trade items cost the same, and all increase per purchase.
- Rare items cost 10 common items at start, any purchase with common items will increase next cost to 20 for all items, etc.
- Rare items cost 5 uncommon items at start, any purchase with uncommon items will increase next cost to 5 for all items, etc.
Settings:
- Adds rain/particle density control.
UX:
- Escape will now close the journal and trade menus if open.
- Escape will pause the game if journal and trade menu are closed.
- Fixes background music/sfx failing to loop.
- Fixes ship bell noise ignoring sfx settings.
